Why I built Final Table
Frank Fumarola · Founder, Final Table
Hi, I'm Frank. I'm a technologist by trade, and for years I've been a regular in a neighborhood poker league.
When a friend took over running his league, I started helping with the admin. Like most home leagues, it lived in a spreadsheet, and the spreadsheet fought back. Formulas broke whenever someone sorted a column or added a row, and every lookup quietly pointed at the wrong player. Adding a new player meant fixing three tabs. Counting only each player's best games took a formula nobody could read, let alone fix. And the standings were only as current as whoever last remembered to update them.
Game night had its own paperwork. Rebuys and knockouts went on the back of an envelope, somebody counted the cash twice, and the results got typed in a day or two later, if they got typed in at all.
The RSVPs were worse. Every game meant a round of emails and texts, reply-all threads, chasing the maybes and counting heads the night before, then a couple of no-shows anyway. It was a tax on whoever hosted, and the host is usually the person who most wants to just sit down and play.
So I built Final Table to take that work off the host. Players answer RSVPs straight from the email, without making an account. The blind clock runs on any TV and every phone. Check-in, rebuys and the prize pool are tracked on the night, and the season standings update themselves when the results are saved. It's free for leagues of up to 18 players.
The guides and free tools on this site come from the same place: the questions our games actually argued about. How many places should we pay? Which points system is fair? How many chips does everyone need? If you're starting a league, begin with how to start a home poker league. And if a spreadsheet is still the right fit for your group, take our free one. I've made sure its formulas don't break.
